The New York Yankees are in an ugly rut.
After being the unquestioned best team in baseball for most of the first half, they have played like a Triple-A squad for weeks.
Not days, weeks.
“The #Yankees have lost 11 of their last 14 games, giving them the worst record in the majors since the start of August—just behind the Athletics (3-10). They’re just 8-17 since the All-Star break after having entered the break with the best record in baseball (64-28),” MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch wrote via Twitter.

At the moment, the Yankees look horrendous.
Some of their best players are in Triple-A, they have been decimated by injuries, and some of their regulars have been largely unproductive for months.
Such is the case of Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Josh Donaldson, and Aaron Hicks.
Most Of The Solutions Are Currently Injured
Alternatives such as Giancarlo Stanton, Harrison Bader, or Matt Carpenter are injured.
That has forced the Yankees to field lineups with four or five non-competitive offensive players on more than one occasion in the last couple of weeks.
Losing has become the norm in the Bronx, a baffling development after such a strong start.
They have lost 12 of their last 15 games: after watching them play in April, May, and June, it’s hard to imagine this is the same team.
Once Stanton returns, the offense should be much better: the same can be said about Bader and the outfield defense.
But the bullpen, with Clay Holmes struggling (and now injured) is currently in shambles because of how many soldiers are down.
Right now, the Yankees look like a very beatable bunch; that’s why they have been losing so much recently.
Injuries, slumps and a failure to field the best roster night in and night out are currently derailing the Yanks’ season.
