United States’s food industry IT recruitment activity drops 22.2% in July 2022


The US’s food industry registered a 22.2% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.66% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.62% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.24% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry in July 2022.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 35.02% in July 2022, registering a 10.59% decline over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 28.11% share, a decrease of 43.52% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.75%, registering a 41.82% decline from June 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 14.75%, down 65.22% over the previous month.

Top five food companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Bunge posted 41 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 46.43% over the previous month, followed by JBS with 19 jobs and a 17.39% drop. HelloFresh with 16 IT jobs and Nestle with 15 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and a 68.09% decrease, respectively, while Mars recorded an increase of 116.67% with 13 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.85%, down by 59.23% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.65% share, registered a decline of 13.04% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.51% share, down 28.3% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 5.99%, recording a month-on-month increase of 44.44%.
