Miami Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross was able to escape the tanking charges brought up by former head coach Brian Flores.
Flores claimed that Ross allegedly offered $100,000 for every loss to improve their draft position.
But while Ross proved his innocence on that issue, he was proven guilty of tampering with quarterback Tom Brady and former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton.
As a result, the Dolphins forfeited their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and their third-rounder in 2024.
Ross is also suspended from his duties as a team owner and from the NFL committees he belongs to.
Though Ross is sidelined for a while, the team itself continues its preparation for the 2022 season.
With that, head coach Mike McDaniel declared that the issues hounding their front office aren’t affecting the team at all.

WSVN main sports anchor Josh Moser tweeted, “#Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel asked how much does the Stephen Ross suspension & fine for tampering with Tom Brady impact the joint practices against Brady and the #Bucs? ‘Doesn’t occupy a single iota of us being out here’ #FinsUp #nfl #TrainingCamp #Miami #Tampa.”
McDaniel’s tone suggests that the team is all business.
After all, they have a chance to achieve something special with their current roster.
Dolphins Could Become A Playoff Contender
If everything goes well, the Dolphins should enter the postseason and end their five-year drought.
Their backfield rotation of Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Sony Michel, and Myles Gaskin can do wonders for the squad.
Likewise, they have a receiving corps that can do wonders featuring Cedrick Wilson, Jaylen Waddle, and Tyreek Hill.
The Dolphins also have Jaelan Phillips, Emmanuel Ogbah, Xavien Howard, and Byron Jones on defense.
Those players should make the Dolphins one of the teams to beat in the AFC.
