NFL Analyst Highlights Questions Over Deshaun Watson Ruling

It seems like the NFL wants the Cleveland Browns to succeed after giving Deshaun Watson a six-game suspension for his violation of the league’s player conduct policy.

In an earlier tweet, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero tweeted, “Judge Sue L. Robinson’s decision says Deshaun Watson’s ‘pattern of behavior was egregious,’ but notes that behavior was ‘nonviolent sexual conduct’ in explaining the decision to suspend him six games, per source.”

On a personal note, Watson wouldn’t lose much money because of the way the Browns structured his five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed deal.

As a team, the Browns will have a favorable schedule before Watson returns.

NBC Sports’ Warren Sharp shared that Watson gets to keep his $45 million signing bonus, $46 million salary for 2022, and $184 million in guaranteed money.

He also couldn’t believe that Watson only got a six-game suspension which is equivalent to DeAndre Hopkins‘ PED test.

The best part is that they have one of the easiest schedules for the first six weeks.

If Jacoby Brissett could hold the fort and give Watson a nice record, the Browns might make it to the playoffs.

Not Too Easy For The Browns

Even if the Browns have one of the easiest schedules to start the season, they still cannot take a stroll in the park because they have tough opponents.

They will still have to face the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Los Angeles Chargers early in the season.

But as the season progresses, the uphill climb continues because they will also face the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Therefore, Watson may get all the money promised to him but it doesn’t guarantee that the Browns will more more games.
