It remains to be seen if Kenny Pickett will become the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ starting quarterback this season.

He will be in for competition against Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Trubisky.

Having a strong training camp may compel head coach Mike Tomlin to make Pickett their starter.

He may not have experience in the pro game but he has talented players around him like Najee Harris, Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson, and Pat Freiermuth.

But while his place on the depth chart remains uncertain, he continues to build rapport with the team’s beloved fans.

WTAE Sports Anchor Emily Giangreco tweeted, “Kenny Pickett making every kid’s birthday a special one. He started at the front of the line and walked all the way to the end. Signing autographs, taking photos, and wishing multiple kids a happy birthday. This is what training camp is all about.”

Pickett may not have much playing time during the regular season but he is building his case to be a fan favorite.

After all, he is engaging with the same people who cheered for him when he suited up for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers.

Pickett feels at home in Pittsburgh and that’s why he didn’t mind signing autographs for a lot of people.

Those who bought his jersey also took time to get his autograph.

Pickett Loves The Crowd

Other athletes wouldn’t want to be bothered during training camp.

As for Pickett, he is starting on the right note by mingling with fans even for a few seconds.

No wonder his jersey became one of the highest-selling uniforms in recent times.

If nothing goes right for the Steelers, he might take the field sooner than later.
