DALLAS – MMA Junkie is on scene and reporting live from Saturday’s UFC 277 event, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results beginning at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT).

UFC 277 takes place Saturday at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ABC/ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.

In the main event, women’s bantamweight champion Julianna Peña (11-4 MMA, 7-2 UFC) puts her title on the line for the first time when she takes on the woman she took the belt from, Amanda Nunes (21-5 MMA, 14-2 UFC) – who still holds the women’s featherweight title. In the co-feature, with champion Deiveson Figueiredo on the shelf, former flyweight titleholder Brandon Moreno (19-6-2 MMA, 7-3-2 UFC) will meet Kai Kara-France (24-9 MMA, 7-2 UFC) for the interim 125-pound belt. Moreno beat Kara-France in December 2019 with a unanimous decision at UFC 245.

Orion Cosce vs. Blood Diamond

Round 1 – They trade leg kicks. Cosce closes the distance and presses Diamond against the cage a minute in. With his back against the fence, Diamond is doing a good job at landing knees. After swapping positions against the fence, Cosce hits a judo throw and lands on Diamond’s side control. Cosce is having good control, but little attakc. Diamond was able to get back to his feet, but got slammed right back to the canvas. Diamond gets up once again, and this time he’s able to break away from Cosce’s lock. Diamond lands a good kick to the head in the final seconds of the round. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Cosce.

Round 2 – Diamond with a good left hand on Cosce to open up the round. However, Cosce immediately closes the distance and presses Diamond against the cage. Diamond connects with some good knees, but keeps getting controlled against the cage. They’re halfway through the round. They break away and Diamond lands a good kick to the body as they split. Another big body kick by Diamond. Cosce with very little offense on the feet. And a spinning elbow connects for Diamond. Cosce is wobbled. Diamond closes the distance and presses Cosce against the cage. His corner is yelling him to break away and strike. Diamond with another brutal body kick. Cosce looks visibly hurt. In the last 10 seconds, Cosce presses Diamond against the cage and manages to see the final bell. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Diamond.

Round 3 – Diamond enters round three with plenty of momentum. He’s far less active on the feet than the previous round. Cosce closes the distance and takes down Diamond with ease. He takes his back and now threatens with the rear-naked choke. Cosce with solid control here. He switches to mount while also locking in an arm-triangle choke. After a back-and-forth, Diamond escapes, but has Cosce on top in half guard. Diamond looks very tired. A minute left in the round. Cosce not landing a ton of shots from the top, but completely dominating the grappling. Cosce mainstins top position until the final bell. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Cosce. Overall 29-28, Cosce.

Nicolae Negumereanu vs. Ihor Potieria

Round 1 – No touch of gloves here. Potieria takes the center of the octagon and presses Negumereanu with striking. Almost a minute in and Negumereanu throws a big combination, closes the distance and presses Potieria against the cage. Some good knees to the legs by Negumereanu. Two minutes in and Negumereanu still maintains control against the cage. And he gets a little trip and brings down Potieria with two minutes left. Fans are not happy with the action and begin to boo. Negumereanu doing enough to avoid a standup here and landing some decent shots from top. Potieria gets back up briefly just top get taken down once again. The referee stands up both fighters and the fight resumes on the feet with 40 seconds left. Potieria with some good leg kicks. The the bell goes off. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Negumereanu.

Round 2 – Oh, and these boys are firing to kick off the second. Solid jabs and leg kicks by Potieria here. Negumereanu tries to fire back too, but nothing connects clean. Big left hook by Potieria. And Negumereanu connects with a right hand that seems to stun Potieria. Negumereanu closes the distance here with three minutes left and presses Potieria against the cage. They break way. Potieria looks tired. Negumereanu connects with three nasty knees on Potieria. And that launches a full on attack. Negumereanu battering Potieria with all kinds of shots against the cage. Potieria’s mouth piece goes flying, and he’s looking bad. The referee saw enough and jumped in to stop the bout. Pure fireworks from Negumereanu.

Joselyne Edwards vs. Ji Yeon Kim

Round 1 – Edwards getting busy here right off the start. She pressures Kim and puts plenty of kicks behind her attack. And a nice straight right from Kim counters Edwards’ kick. Again, Edwards doing most of the pressuring and attacking here, even through neither fighter is connecting with anything big. One minute left. Kim not throwing much here. And Edwards’s ups the output and begins to unload on Kim. Good job at defending by Kim. And the bell goes off. MMA Junkie scores the round a clean 10-9 for Edwards.

Round 2 – Edwards picks up right where she left off in terms of pressure. Kim appears to be a bit busier this round. She connects with a good one-two and lands a few solid leg kicks. Edwards lands a head kicks on Kim. And a good right hand follows by Kim. Now Kim looks to put the pace on Edwards. Oh, and nice straight right lands by Kim, likely the best shot of the fight so far. One minute left. Edwards having a tougher time finding her target now, while Kim has picked up the pace. Edwards closes the distance and gets a takedown in the final seconds of the bout. Competitive round, but MMA Junkie scores it 10-9 for Kim.

Round 3 – Very even fight now. Edwards looks fired up and comes out to pressure. Kim seems to be getting the better of the exchanges on the feet here. Edwards closes the distance and presses Kim against the cage on the clinch. Three minutes left. Nice judo throw by Edwards. She gets side control on Kim. She’s now in mount. Edwards immediately goes for the armbar and loses it. Both fighters get back on their feet and back in the clinch. Edwards connects with a clean one-two on Kim, as they break away. Couple of leg kicks land by Edwards. They brawl it out in the final 10 seconds! Close round. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Edwards. Overall 29-28, Edwards.

Adam Fugitt vs. Michael Morales

Round 1 – Big fight here for prospect Morales, as he looks to stay undefeated in MMA. Right off the bat, Fugitt with a leg kick heavy attack. Morales lands a massive right hand followed by a jab. It clearly stuns Fugitt. Morales letting lose now, but Fugitt gets a takedown. Solid control here by Fugitt. One minute left. Morales is able to get a sweep and get back to his feet. Morales with a couple of hard left hands. Fugitt takes them well and fires back some shots of his own. Close round here. MMA Junkie scores it for Morales, 10-9.

Round 2 – Fugitt not resembling the odds, as he’s putting up a competitive fight here. Morales with a nice jab. Oh, and Fugitt connects with a right hook. Fugitt keeps pressuring here and going blow for blow against Morales. Three minutes left. Both fighters trade bombs here. Fugitt attempts a takedown, but fails. Morales landing some solid shots here on Fugitt, but he’s taking them well and firing back as well. Another close round, but Morales seems to be landing the harder shots MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for the Ecuadorian.

Round 3 – Fugitt looks to grapple in this round. He goes for a takedown, but fails. Morales connects with a huge left hand that drops Fugitt! Fugitt gets back up, but he looks hurt. Morales is all over him. It’s over. The referee stops the bout. Great finish by Morales.

Rafa Garcia vs. Drakkar Klose

Round 1 – And they touch gloves and the fight is on. Garcia takes the outside, while Klose gets the inside of the octagon. A hard leg kick by Klose gets things started here. Another one. Garcia tries to answer with some right hands, but nothing connects clean. Klose really finding a home with the leg kicks. And a left hook from Garcia stuns Klose. They clinch and as they break, Garcia lands a good elbow. Klose now with his second takedown attempt, but this time he’s able to tie up Garcia and briefly take him down. Garcia gets back up, but still pressed against the cage by Klose. On eminute left. Klose gets the fight to the ground. Garcia attempts a knee bar, but doesn’t come close. The final bell rings. MMA Junkie scored the round 10-9, Klose.

Round 2 – Back in the clinch against the cage, courtesy of Klose’s pressure. Garcia does a good job at defending and breaks away. Very hesitant attacks from both fighters. Klose with a couple of good leg kicks. And Garcia gets a nice takedown in the middle of the cage. He advances from guard to half guard. Two minutes left. Heavy top control by Garcia here. Garcia landing some shots, but nothing big. The referee doesn’t see too much activity and stands up the fighters. Klose connects with a big upper cut and then rushes Garcia. He closes the distance but gets taken down by Garcia to finish the round. Close round. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Garcia.

Round 3 – As they trade some shots and look to get their distance, Garcia shoots for a takedown and scores it. However, Klose gets back up immediately, and the fight resumes on the feet. Klose putting a lot of pressure on Garcia. Nice stiff jab by Garcia. Klose is really pushing the pace here and making Garcia work. Garcia seems tired. Nice leg kick by Klose. Garcia’s output has dropped dramatically. Klose tries to take down Garcia, but is unsuccessful. Garcia now presses Klose against the fence, and the final bell rings. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Klose. Overall 29-28, Klose.

Hamdy Abdelwahab vs. Don’Tale Mayes

Round 1 – And big boys are up. Immediately, they take the center of the octagon and start trading. Mayes with a nice left hand. Mayes showing great defense. Oh, spoke too soon. Abdelwahab tags and stuns Mayes. Mayes recovers quickly and begins to use more movement. Abdelwahab tags and drops Mayes. He’s all over him. Mayes goes down and as he gets back up Abdelwahab throws him back to the ground. Abdelwahab now pressing Mayes against the cage. Two minutes left. Abdelwahab controlling Mayes for an entire minute against the cage with little action. The referee stops the fight and resumes it on the feet. And Mayes cracks Abdelwahab with a left hook towards the end of the round and swarms him. Abdelwahab does a good job at defending the rest of the follow-up shots. Fun round. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Abdelwahab.

Round 2 – No time wasted here. Abdelwahab lands a kick and then a right hand. Mayes is very much in the fight, but the momentum is in favor of Abdelwahab. And Abdelwahab gets hurt by a right hand. Mayes is all over him. Abdelwahab’s eye looks badly swollen. Mayes slows down the attack, but Abdelwahab seems battered. Abdelwahab swinging wild now. Mayes picking his shots. Good leg kick by Mayes. Two minutes left. Abdelwahab has slowed down. Mayes with good kicks to the body and leg. And a low blow from Abdelwahab’s part halts the action. It looked legal on the replay, and the referee resumes the fight. Abdelwahab now picking it up, lands a good left hand. Mayes goes for a takedown, but falls short and ends up on bottom. Abdelwahab controls from side control. Another fun round. MMA Junkie scores it 10-9, Mayes.

Round 3 – Abdelwahab closes the distance right off the bat and gets a takedown. He’s now working from Mayes’ guard. One minute in. Abdelwahab just controlling the action here. He’s got very little output and the crowd is not liking it. Boos break out in the arena. Two minutes left. Very little action here. One minute left. The referee stand up the fight. Mayes trying to finish the fight, throws a few head kicks, but nothing lands. Mayes connects with a couple of hooks to finish the round. Perhaps a little too late. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Abdelwahab. Overall 29-28, Abdelwahab.

Rafael Alves vs. Drew Dober

Round 1 – Alves throw a capoeira kick to wow the crowd. Dynamic style here by Alves. A left hook lands for the Brazilian. Alves clinches with Dober and immediately gets a takedown. He moves to hard guard. Impressive start by Alves. Things are not going Dober’s way at the moment. Dober recovers guard. We’re halfway through the round. Alves not really landing much  ground-and-pound from guard. Two minutes left. And the fight is back on the feet. Both fighters swing wild hooks, but nothing lands. Dober not landing much on Alves, but he is pressing and dictating the action. Dober finishes with round with a solid combo. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Alves.

Round 2 – Dober making up for lost time here. Solid body kick by him. Alves seems to be slowing down. Another good kick to the body by Dober. Not much output here from Alves. Dober continuing the pressure here, throwing often, but with Alves doing a good job at defending. Half of the round has gone by. Good knee to the body, followed by a kick to the body from Alves. And an eye poke from Dober halts the fight. Alves takes a good minute to recover and the fight resumes. Alves is mad and comes out swining hard. He connects a huge hook on Dober and Dober just eats it. A wild brawl end the round.  MMA junkie scores the round 10-9, Dober.

Round 3 – Again, big swings from both fighters, but nothing lands flush. Alves attempts a takedown, but is unsuccessful. Dober doing all the pressing, while Alves looks to sit back. And out of nowhere, Dober lands a nasty shot to the body that folds Alves. That’s all it took. Fight is over. Spectacular finish by Dober.

Alex Morono vs. Matthew Semelsberger

Round 1 – Semelsberger takes the center of the octagon and fires a big right-hand right of the gate. Good left hook by Semelsberger. Morono connects with a left hook of his own. Morono connecting often here on Semelsberger. Morono staying light on his feet and using a lot of movement on a much bigger Semelsberger. A short hook clips Semelsberger. Morono looking good eraly. Two minutes left. Semelsberger swinging, but mostly hitting the arms of Morono. Semelsberger closes the distance and presses Morono against the cage. They break away with one minute left. Semelsberger has big swelling on his left eye. The bell goes off. Solid round by Morno, an easy 10-9 on MMA Junkie’s scorecard.

Round 2 – Semelsberger is upping the pace here per his corner’s request, but he’s still unable to get passed Morono’s defense – even with a higher output. Morono staying light on his feet is just picking apart Semelsberger on the outside. Good leg kicks by Semelsberger. Three consecutive jabs connect for Morono. Props to Semelsberger for pressing the action, but Morono is outclassing him on the feet. Thirty seconds left and Semelsberger gets a takedown. Morno eating some heavy ground-and-pound. The bell signals the end of the round. MMA Junkie scores it 10-9, Morono.

Round 3 – Semelsberger comes out like a bat out of hell and swarms Morono. A big knee knocks down Morono to the canvas. Unsure if he was off balance or rocked. Semelsberger with relentless pressure here. Morono gets back up, but gets pressed against the cage. They break away. Semelsberger is looking to get a finish here. Morono’s jab is adding up here. Semelsberger slowing down a bit. Two minutes left. Big left-hand lands for Semelsberger. Morono staying composed while avoiding Semelsberger’s power strikes. Semelsberger looks quite battered. One minute left. Morono closes the distance and presses Semelsberger against the cage. Good exchanges here from both to end the round. MMA junkie scores the round 10-9, Semelsberger. Overall 29-28, Morono.

Magomed Ankalaev vs. Anthony Smith

Round 1 – The fight is on. Ankalaev takes the outside and Smith the inside of the octagon. Both fighters fainting, trying to get each other’s timing. A minute goes by. Ankalaev with a couple of good leg kicks. Smith answers back with a few leg kicks of his own. Halfway through the round. Very little action so far. Another big leg kick by Ankalaev. And Ankalaev with a head kick, but doesn’t land 100 percent clean. Good combination by Ankalaev. Smith gets tripped in an exchange and ends on bottom. Ankalaev stays standing, kicking Smith’s legs until the bell. MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9, Ankalaev.

Round 2 – Smith comes out pressuring Ankalaev. After a couple of missed exchanges, Smith shoots and presses Ankalaev against the cage. Smith gets a body lock and sits on the canvas. He’s trying to get a sweep or pull Ankalaev into guard. Ankalaev basing out and staying on top, while landing ground-and-pound here and there. Halfway through the round. Smith loses the lock and ends on bottom. Ankalaev landing nasty shots from the top. Smith can’t seem to improve position or get back up. The referee waves off the fight, he’s seen enough. Smith appears to be complaining about his ankle. Looks like he’s injured.

Alexandre Pantoja vs. Alex Perez

Round 1 – A key flyweight bout is underway. And they’re going at it. Wild back-and-forth. Pantoja gets the takedown and immediately hops on Perez’s back. Pantoja has a standing back mount on Perez. He’s looking for the rear-naked choke. And there is it! Pantoja gets the tap. Incredible performance.

Derrick Lewis vs. Sergei Pavlovich

Round 1 – Lewis kicks things off, literally, he leg kicks Pavlovich. Oh! And Pavlovich connects with a big left hook. It wobbles Lewis. Pavlovich is now all over Lewis, looking for the finish. Lewis stumbles and falls to the canvas. Referee Dan Miragliotta jumps in and stops the action. Lewis is not happy and is protesting the stoppage. Lewis was getting up, as Miragliotta stopped the fight. However, there’s no denying he was badly hurt.

Brandon Moreno vs. Kai Kara-France

Round 1 – And the UFC interim flyweight title is up for grabs in the next 25 minutes. Moreno takes the outside of the cage, while Kara-France takes the inside. Both fighters very cautious. A couple of good leg kicks land by Kara-France, but Moreno counters with solid jabs. A low blow from Kara-France halts the action, but it quickly resumes. Two minutes in. Kara-France clocks in another leg kick. And big right hook by Moreno. Kara-France’s face is red. Big hook by Kara-France, followed by a shot from Moreno. Kara-France defends well and the fight goes back to the feet. Moreno now pressing Kara-France. One minute left. Big shots missed by Moreno. The bell signals the end of round one. Close start. MMA Junkie scored the round 10-9, Moreno.

Round 2 – Moreno with a sharp jab. Kara-France clocks in a couple of leg kicks, it seems that’s a big part of his strategy. A minute goes by. Very technical fight here. Kara-France throws a head kick, Moreno ducks under it and ties Kara-France. He drives him to the fence. Kara-France shortly breaks away. Another leg kick by Kara-France. Moreno shoots for a takedown, but misses. Moreno letting his hands go and connecting good shots on Kara-France. A lot of pressure coming from Moreno’s way. The second comes to an end. MMA Junkie scores it 10-9, Moreno.

Round 3 – Again, Kara-France attacking with the leg kicks. He’s landing them often, but so far Moreno seems unaffected. Moreno slips early in the round and ends on bottom. Kara-France landing heavy shots from Moreno’s guard. The former champion has been opened up below his right eye. Moreno gets back to his feet, but takes a few shots on the way. Clean one-two by Kara-France. Heavy leg kick by Kara-France. Moreno seems to be falling behind in the striking in this round. Kara-France’s timing, much improved. Two minutes left. Moreno answers back with a hard leg kick and then a one-two combo. Solid jab by Moreno. Moreno now connecting often on Kara-France. Kara-France shoots for a takedown and misses. Moreno then lands a liver kick and drops Kara-France. Moreno jumps on Kara-France and swarms him with ground-and-pound. The fight is over. Moreno is now the interim champion.

Result: Brandon Moreno def. Kai Kara-France via TKO (body kick, punches) – Round 3, 4:34 – to win interim flyweight title
