MLB just announced the Players of the Week for the period that started on Thursday and finished on Sunday.

New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge continued his torrid pace and hit his 37th home run over the weekend, comfortably leading all players in MLB.

On the other hand, the St. Louis Cardinals’ first baseman keeps strengthening his case for being voted as the National League MVP at the end of the season.

Paul Goldschmidt and @TheJudge44 start the second half hot! They are your @Chevrolet Players of the Week,” MLB tweeted on Monday afternoon.

Judge regained his power stroke in recent days and is hitting an incredible .560/.645/1.360 with six home runs in his last seven games.

That’s some amazing production.

Two MVP Candidates Had Some Amazing Numbers On The Week

He is considered one of the favorites to win the AL MVP award, but has a really tough challenger: Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels.

Meanwhile, Goldschmidt, who recently made the news for missing the trip to Canada to face the Toronto Blue Jays for being unvaccinated, had an amazing weekend, too.

He feasted on Cincinnati Reds’ pitching, with six hits and four home runs in his last three games.

He scored four and drove in seven runs in those three games.

If we extend the search to his last seven contests, the Cardinals slugger is hitting .357/.419/.893 with five round-trippers and 12 RBI.

‘Goldy’ is slashing an incredible .335/.417/.619 with 24 homers and 77 RBI.

He has a 1.036 OPS: 2022 has been, rather easily, the best season of his career.

The same can be said about Judge, although it is competing up there with his amazing debut year in 2017.

The two men were absolutely deserving of the weekly recognition.
