Texas climbs in 247Sports’ 2023 recruiting class rankings this week

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are continuing to ride a wave of momentum on the recruiting trail.

On Wednesday evening, the Longhorns landed a commitment from four-star cornerback Malik Muhammad. The Dallas native is rated the No. 3 cornerback in the country for the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 7 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports composite.

Muhammad became Texas’ 19th commitment and is the highest rated cornerback to commit to the Longhorns since 2007. Sarkisian’s staff has now landed four top-50 players in the country for the 2023 class.

With the addition of Muhammad, Texas jumped two spots in 247Sports’ 2023 recruiting class rankings. With a few other potential commitments coming over the next few weeks, the Longhorns could very well put themselves in the running for the top class.

Here’s a look at the top 10 recruiting classes in the country for the 2023 cycle at this time.
