MLB agent Scott Boras was recently on a podcast with insider Jon Heyman and fellow reporters and columnists at the New York Post.

Boras covered several topics, the primary one being Juan Soto and his future.

He appears open to the possibility a contender trades for him and enjoys “three postseason runs” with him leading the charge, not to mention the chance to extend him to a long-term deal.

There is another lefty-hitting outfielder of his generating interest on the market, in this case, free agency.

It’s former New York Mets slugger Michael Conforto.

Conforto had a somewhat down season in 2021, with a .232 batting average, 52 runs, 14 home runs, 55 RBI, and a .728 OPS.

That’s a bit off his career .824 OPS, as well as his career-high of .939.

The problem, for Conforto, is that he underwent shoulder surgery and will miss the entire 2022 campaign.

Boras Is Fielding Calls About Conforto

Now that he is not attached to draft pick compensation, Boras said he has received calls from at least four teams regarding Conforto.

“Scott Boras said he got calls from four teams about Michael Conforto since the draft concluded on Tuesday: ‘There is very strong interest by some very good teams,’” MetsMerized Online tweeted.

When healthy, Conforto is a powerful slugger capable of hitting 30 home runs in a season and also boasts a high on-base percentage due to his ability to draw walks.

Power and patience is the name of the game these days, and there are some teams interested in him as a bet for next year and beyond.

He is certainly talented enough to make a difference in 2023.

What kind of market will he have in the next few days?
