The Las Vegas Raiders have had a busy offseason.

They have given lucrative contract extensions to key players like Derek Carr, Hunter Renfrow, and Maxx Crosby.

The Raiders also brought in more talent in Jakob Johnson, Demarcus Robinson, and Chandler Jones.

Their biggest move of all is the trade for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, whom they gave a five-year, $141.25 million contract extension.

But their moves aren’t limited on the field, as Jones tweeted.

Jones congratulated Sandra Douglass Morgan who the team hired as team president.

The two-time All Pro defensive end said, “Congratulations to Sandra Douglass Morgan! This is huge in sooo many ways! So happy to be a Raider! And hats off to Mark Davis! Man that’s a blessing!”

Morgan became the first Black female team president hired in the NFL, replacing interim president Dan Ventrelle.

She Has Established Credentials

Before her role with the Raiders, she served as the chairperson of the Nevada Gaming Control Board from 2019 to 2021.

She is a Las Vegas native who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.

After which, she completed her law degree at UNLV.

Morgan has also worked as a litigation attorney for MGM Resorts International and city attorney of North Las Vegas.

Before taking the Raiders roles, she already has ties with the NFL after serving as the vice-chairperson of the Las Vegas Super Bowl hosting committee and a director at Allegiant Travel Corporation, which purchased the naming rights for the Raiders’ stadium.

She also follows a Raiders tradition of breaking barriers that started by naming Art Shell the league’s first Black coach in the modern era.

There’s also Tom Flores, who became the first Hispanic coach to win a Super Bowl.

In 1997, the Raiders made Amy Trask the first female CEO in the NFL and she held onto that position until 2013.
