There has been a lot of speculation – and some uncertainty – about the future for Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers.

He was once again sidelined because of an injury last season and missed weeks of the most important part of the year.

Fans were outraged and disappointed – and became only more so when the team failed to make the playoffs.

Things need to get better with Davis, they demanded.

Well, one thing is for sure: Davis is putting his all into the offseason.

Just weeks after saying he hadn’t even picked up a ball since April, Davis was filmed practicing his free throw by renowned basketball coach “Lethal Shooter”.

On Twitter, he highlighted Davis’ work commitment: “Anthony Davis been locked in! Training everyday at 4:50am is what it takes! After 400makes, FT’s are key! To be the best if you need to be up here before the rest. More work to be done this summer!”

This is the sort of Davis that fans like to see.

Attentive Anthony

Fans were worried that Davis wasn’t going to be taking this offseason seriously and would be starting up in the same place he was last year.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

The fact that he’s starting his day so early and is so committed to getting better is a great sign – but is it enough?

One of Davis’ biggest problems has been his tendency to get hurt: he has missed so many games due to bodily harm and that’s his biggest threat moving forward.

The Lakers fired a few physical trainers before last season began in hopes that Davis’ conditioning would get better.

But he was once again hurt and once again sat out for weeks.

So while his early morning training sessions are great, hopefully the Lakers are also working on his physicality too.

Otherwise, all of this will be for nothing.
