United Kingdom’s food industry IT recruitment activity rises 8.3% in June 2022


The UK’s food industry registered an 8.3% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.83% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.6% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 1.24% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.53% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s food industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.76% in June 2022, registering a 75% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 25% share, an increase of 88.89% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 8.82%, registering a 66.67% decline from May 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 1.47%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five food companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 38.3% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s food industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Roofoods posted 35 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 775% over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 24 jobs and a 31.43% drop. Kellogg with 2 IT jobs and Nestle with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% growth, respectively, while Mars recorded a decline of 60% with 2 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.94%, up by 23.26% from May 2022. Entry Level positions with a 14.71% share, registered an increase of 11.11% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.35% share, up 150% over May 2022.
