India’s food industry IT recruitment activity drops 16.1% in June 2022


India’s food industry registered a 16.1% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 20.2% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the food industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.06% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.78% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s food industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s food industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 37.86% in June 2022, registering a 29.09% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 26.21% share, a decrease of 37.21% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 24.27%, registering a 35.9% decline from May 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 11.65%, down 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five food companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 12.04% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s food industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. posted 45 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 31.82% over the previous month, followed by Charoen Pokphand Foods Public with 19 jobs and a 35.71% growth. General Mills with 13 IT jobs and Bundl Technologies Private with 12 jobs, recorded a 30% growth and a 33.33% decrease, respectively, while Bunge recorded a flat growth with 6 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.82%, down by 39.52% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.36% share, registered a decline of 26.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Senior job ads with 3.88% share, up 100% over May 2022, while Entry Level postings accounted for 1.94%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
