Deshaun Watson‘s NFL fate is still uncertain as the disciplinary hearing goes to a third day.
The newest collective bargaining agreement stipulated that suspensions will be heard by a neutral disciplinary officer.
The league will present its case and the player’s side, usually siding with the NFL Players Association, is allowed to argue for a reduction of the proposed suspension.
In Watson’s case, the NFL presented the case of five women who filed charges against the Pro Bowl quarterback.
These women agreed to participate in the proceedings and their experiences are the core of the league’s push for an indefinite suspension.
Meanwhile, Watson’s camp brought in Jeffrey Kessler who worked with Tom Brady during the Deflategate scandal.
He will argue on his behalf for a reduced sentence based on previous judgment bestowed by the league.
Retired federal judge Sue Robinson will weigh the arguments of both sides before making a decision.
Once a decision is made, Watson can appeal it to the commissioner’s office.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport guaranteed the expectation that the hearing will stretch over multiple days.
Both sides will be given more time to strengthen their cases regarding Watson’s alleged violation of the personal conduct policy.
The proceedings are expected to resume on Thursday and Watson will have to attend the hearing once again.
Why Is The Hearing That Long?
The league is arguing that Watson had multiple violations of the personal conduct policy based on his alleged sexual misconduct cases.
That’s why both sides are fleshing out each claim, hoping to win Robinson’s judgment.
If Kessler and the NFLPA present sound arguments, Watson might even play without serving a suspension.
However, it might take time before a decision is made but the target is to have it before training camp starts.
