The Philadelphia 76ers are putting together a plan for their future.

Tired of constantly falling short, the team’s front office is willing to make some big moves to improve their chances in the offseason.

A lot of the big pieces are there already – Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tyrese Maxey for example – but obviously that isn’t enough to make the Finals.

It feels like there is a concerted effort to push the team to the next level.

Even Harden is getting into the act, as he declined his $47.3 million option with the team, although he will most certainly re-sign but will save the franchise money when he does.

In fact, sources now say that the Sixers will meet up with Harden and his representatives tomorrow to hash out a new contract, one that will grant the team more financial power in free agency.

Speaking of free agency, Philadelphia is also expected to meet up with P.J. Tucker and his reps soon too.

Will the money Philly saves because of Harden go straight into Tucker’s pocket?

Is that money well spent?

Tucker has been around the league since 2006, yet he is still doing meaningful work and remains a target for multiple teams.

Recently he was putting up 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while playing for the Miami Heat.

That is just slightly above his career average of 7.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists a game.

He’s a consistent player with one ring because of his time playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Tucker is also an aggressive force on the floor, something that could greatly help a 76ers team that sometimes gasses out later in the year.
