The Houston Texans are not getting a pass from Deshaun Watson‘s legal battles.
Even if they already traded the Pro Bowl quarterback to the Cleveland Browns, they are still allegedly an accomplice to Watson’s alleged incidents of sexual misconduct.
Watson hasn’t played for the Browns and the incidents filed against him happened when he was still under contract with the Texans.
That’s why Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing those who accused Watson, released a statement regarding the case they filed against the team.

ESPN’s Jake Trotter shared the image of Buzbee’s words.
He said, “Today we filed the case of what will likely be many against the Houston Texans, related to Deshaun Watson’s behavior. Suffice it to say, the overwhelming evidence collected indicating that the Houston Texans enabled Watson’s behavior is incredibly damning. We believe the Texans knew or most certainly should have known of Watson’s conduct. Beyond that, we believe that the filing speaks for itself.”
Buzbee does have a point, especially if proven that the Texans were aware of Watson’s actions.
However, this case will likely be civil in nature and no one will be locked behind bars.
Therefore, they are hoping for a settlement for those who filed charges against him.
The NFL Should Penalize The Texans
If the Texans were well-aware of Watson’s antics beyond their facility, then they should get fines or sanctions from the NFL.
As of writing, the league is already hearing the case regarding Watson’s suspension.
If proven to be true, the league should also include the Texans in the penalties.
Most likely, the NFL will forfeit their picks to limit their opportunities of building a competitive roster.
