The Hollywood Hills have been alive with the sound of tune with this reunion.
Julie Andrews gained the AFI Are living Fulfillment Award at a Gala Tribute in Los Angeles on June 9, and the celebrities who performed the von Trapp kids in The Sound of Track got here in combination to have fun her profession. Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl) walked the purple carpet on the Dolby Theater and at one level led the group in a sing-along of “Do Re Mi.” And earlier than they needed to say goodbye, farewell for the evening, they were given a gaggle image with Andrews, who performed Maria within the 1965 movie and gained an Academy Award nomination for her function.
Sadly, no longer all the movie’s members of the family may well be there. Charmian Carr and Heather Menzies-Urich, who portrayed Liesl and Louisa von Trapp within the film, died in 2016 and 2017, respectively, and Christopher Plummer, who performed Captain Georg von Trapp, passed on to the great beyond closing 12 months.
