This is not folklore: Joe Alwyn is a Grammy winner.
Whilst the British megastar is maximum recognized for his appearing roles in The Favorite and the impending collection Conversations With Pals, he become a certified songwriter right through lockdown, taking part along with his longtime female friend Taylor Swift on her albums folklore and evermore. And when folklore received Album of the 12 months at the 2020 Grammys, Alwyn—who co-wrote and co-produced songs “betty” and “exile” underneath the pseudonym William Bowery—scored a trophy.
“That used to be a surreal bonus of lockdown,” he advised The Parent in a brand new interview. “That is a real understatement.”
As Alwyn defined to the opening, he and Swift hadn’t deliberate on running in combination, it took place organically. “It wasn’t like, ‘It is 5 o’clock, it is time to check out and write a track in combination,'” he shared. “It took place from messing round on a piano, and making a song badly, then being overheard, and being, like, ‘Let’s have a look at what occurs if we get to the tip of it in combination.'”
